PM Alerts

To All Members,

Unlike other forums who sometimes have huge announcements when you sign in that you have a PM waiting for you, this one is alot more subtle. Sometimes you dont even realize you've got a PM.

I just wanted to let all users know that the way you can tell you've a PM is that your "Messages" button on the nav bar underneath the forum banner will flash on and off...it's slight and kind of looks like its glowing.

Sometimes you can miss this if you aren't expecting any PM's.

Thats quite alright Insomniac...I noticed that it was hard to realize you have a PM the other day when I didn't see mine glowing for about a day or two. It's not like other sites, more subtle.

I like it like that though. Some forums have a huge half a page thing that shouts "YOU HAVE A PERSONAL MESSAGE!" and that just makes my eyes bleed.

Yea I know what you mean. I do like the fact that this one doesn't really screw with the layout of the forum, it just sits there and blinks calmly as if to say "take your time I'm not going anywhere" lol

It's a zen forum.....

"Hey man, you got a pm, but don't worry, check it any time. It's cool."

LOL that is so true...you should have seen the forum layout I had picked before this one. It was actually called "Zen Garden" it was really nice too, but I didn't feel it suited the theme of the forum as much as this one does. But this one doesn't really suit the theme either, but its nicer so I went with it.

That would be ironic hehe. I like this layout, its pretty easy on the eyes too which is a +1

That's what I thought, it's not too bright and the colours contrast with each other really well. And I love the neon blue, it's my favourite colour at the moment.

I think the forum looks great Brianna and as for the notification of pms.....

I feel that you made a great decision there, it can be very irritating when you are in the middle of typing out a post and get a massive notice in your face saying
"YOU GOT A MESSAGE NOW GO READ IT OR ELSE"
that gets so annoying, so I am glad you went with the subtle approach with that.

At least its not like bright green and purple, that would hurt the eyes. This layout has a science-fiction feel but there's something else too, I can't put my finger on it.

-=grins=- Nice face at the end there, I bet you've been dying to use it lol. And that's true, even though I didn't really have a choice since it came with the theme. But I like the subtle PM notice. I hate the in your face type.
